I began my career as a civil engineer, but during my junior year I fell in love with quantitative finance and the trading space. My first year of day trading was filled with mistakes and inconsistency, and like most traders, profitability didn't come quickly. Everything changed when I stopped chasing hype and focused instead on strict risk management and executing the same quantified strategy every single day, with no variation. Within the journey, I met Nour Atta, a trading prodigy, lifelong friend, and leader, who propelled me to where I needed to be.
By applying my engineering and quantitative background, I began building my own algorithm — one rooted in logic, probabilities, and repeatability rather than emotion. Makki Brothers has never been about fluff or unrealistic expectations; our algorithm typically wins around 50% of the time, but it remains profitable because losses are controlled and winners are significantly larger. A pivotal moment came in 2025, when conversations about proprietary trading systems with the Einstein Of Wall Street ventured me towards automation. After officially becoming a quant that same year, my mission became clear: to build the best automated trading system the retail industry has ever seen. Long term, the vision is to take this technology private or institutional — while ensuring that retail traders who helped build Makki Brothers continue to benefit from it.
